After I watched Steve plays at NL200/400 I was very impressed and I decided to play some poker tonight. So after everybody went to the bed (actually my mother in law in ours, so my wife sleeping here, just few feet from my computer) I started it.
And this one went well. I lost all ins, been lucky once and overall I played really well. More 3bets and 4bets than usual – thanks for Steve’s game.
Anyway, I grind that money back that I lost with my first NL50 shot. To be honest, I’m thinking about another one tomorrow. We’ll see...
I cash out my BR from Pokerstars and put a decent amount back on my Full Tilt one where it originally came from.
The reasons:
since I’m a full time player I’m learning much more, playing better but less
I don’t have enough time for both of my accounts yet
I’d like to move up to NL50 asap so I need a BR to do that
I’d like to use Steve’s color system and NL50 is a clear field where I don’t need to change hundreds of colors to do that.
Yesterday
I had an interesting day. The first 600 hands weren’t optimal. I think my table and/or seat selection was the main reason of that horrible wosd. I folded a lot of 3bet pots vs agro fishes where I had just an A high for example. I was waiting for better spots and I had some so overall the result wasn’t that bad. Anyway I need to review the marked hands at least.
This is sick. I said something positive yesterday about me and this level. Since that point my game is a shit. I have no answers when this happens with me. And this is not the first time...
Yesterday full
Today 1st
My stats were between 18/15 and 24/20 till that point, since that it's about 15/13. I need a little break I think.
I played very well in my 1st session today. I start to using a stopwatch to play 90 mins sessions a couple of days ago.
I received the first huge slap in the eightieth minute and the second one in the last.
The first was vs a 23/17/38 reg. I decide it on the flop to go all the way down with my hand that’s why I didn’t bet the turn. I didn’t want to give him a chance to fold his weaker hand. Maybe that was a fault on this draw heavy board. Anyway I had him and we shoved when I was a 86-14 fav. Man, I hate that river...
The second one was vs the main target at this table. Mr Simplemind26. His nick is very reasonable I think…
He is 48/12/24 with 12% ch/r
I like paired flops, less chance for a set so I don’t think that I need to fold here. He could have draws, middle (over) pairs like 88, 99. He is not a huge 3better pre so maybe TT as well.
It happened in the last minute so I didn’t have any chance to win it back or do stupid things… I just hate it. You know when you really wanted to do something but there is no more chance to do it. Damn, I hate that feeling too...
I slept more than 3 hours. Sounds ridiculous but this is the most in the last 10 days or so. Maybe I found the right medicine finally for my allergy.
I didn’t do any huge mistake for stack at the start (I did it once in every session in the last few days)
I reviewed the first group coaching session video and that helped me a lot to get back my aggression (3bets, 4bets). You know when I was sick I played a little bit too passive. My brain didn’t work well so I tried to save my ass from the thought spots.
I had a hard week (personally and poker too) and I cannot play at this weekend again but I’ll try to update this blog because there is a lot to talk about it. We’ll see how it goes. I’ll try my best.
I was talking about my A game and my new aggression which is indicating a much better numbers than I have ever before, but I wasn’t pleased with the SD one. Today I saw it finally :-)

I try to write some details tomorrow... I really want it to!
My start was horrible today. I made a huge fault for a stack.
First hand at this table, so no hud, no stats, no nothing
First of all I didn’t raise pre flop which is bad I think. Then I overrated my top 2, but why did I call his 4bet on the flop? If I think I have the best hand then it’s a clear all in, if it’s not then easy fold, but call??? Oh man...
So I think there are 2 options in this hand
1. check pre and fold on the flop after hi reraise me
2. raise pre and go all in on the flop
JJ vs the target at the table
He is 41/18/43 but he is not a pre flop 3better (0% actually), that’s why I just called his minraise pre - just for a set.
Ace comes and his post flop agg is very high. If I’m checking I’m sure he’ll bet this out. And this is it. I forget that why I’m here? I decided pre flop that I’m just setmining… So WTF am I doing? Or, if I bet this flop then where is my double barrel? I know I was scared if I do that we’ll be committed so I went to a check/fold mode. Ridiculous.
Same table and the very next hand
JJ again... At this time vs a 26/26/30 guy (only 10 hands or so). Same idea pre flop: setmining. If the UTG raiser 4bets us I just snap fold my hand btw.
I was thinking so long on the flop. I couldn’t decide what to do. I was between call and fold. He 3bets the UTG raiser from SB pre flop so AK and QQ+ were the biggest part of his range I think – and I did have no read about him.
I’m still not sure about my call honestly. If you know nothing about your opponent the fold could be the best option I think… Anyway I called his bet. My plan was to bet out any hearts, 6, 9 and J on the turn if he checks. The turn wasn’t a good card for me. Didn’t hit any draws. If he has an over pair he is not going to fold it I think.
Maybe I’m wrong and I missed a bet on the 4th street.
Then I folded because I thought that he already had me pre flop…
Few minutes later still the same table
I don’t see any other way to play this so I’m good with it.
And I lost one more half buy in pre flop all in with AK vs QQ, which is okay too..
Since I started to play aggressively I have some problem with the SD-hands. I thought if I’m harder post flop and raising more then it will be easier to win huge pots when I have a hand. My wosd is much better then ever before thanks for my new aggression but where is my sd?
It could be too early to talk about this so I’ll waiting for a bigger sample before I make any conclusion.
I had a little off yesterday afternoon when I didn’t play just review some hands and make some notes etc.
I think my biggest fault was that I didn’t choose the right opponents for my moves. For ex: bet from utg with AKo, than 4bet after the BB raises me. This is sounds good except that he is 11/3/5. Of course he went all in and I folded my hand. That move costs me 30BB.
So I found a couple of hands like this. And if you are playing only 2-4 tables, and don’t have too many good hands (in a short term in this case) a fault like this can kill your daily results in a row.
After this I changed my mind and played again. Was a weird session, I wasn’t too lucky vs my targets, I lost a couple of 80-20 all in, so my EV went up in the sky when my green line felt down again. But - and this is a big BUT - I didn’t care because I think that the way how I played was good.

This time I did a good job to choose the boards and the targets for my moves. And if you cannot win with showdowns you need to do it without them :-)
I keep losing this week. Every time when I have a break (visitors for a weekend or so) I lost my game and I don’t know why. Last week I’ve played very well and the results have come too. This weak I try my best as well and my stats looks similar but I just couldn’t win a hand. I know, it’s just short term and I’m too result oriented etc.
But I feel I miss something here. Maybe I start to play like a robot and couldn’t see the differences between my opponents or I don’t know. I just stop playing now and try to find the leak because I don’t want to sink here…
Today’s 1st on FT wasn’t as good as it could be. I’m surprised that I could win 20% w$sd, because I felt that it is close to 0%...
I had a perfect position on a dream target, but couldn’t beat him. I won a couple of small pots with my cbets on an A or K high type of flop vs him and that’s it. He won a flip against me (AK vs his 66 pre ai) than a couple of small pots. Nothing special I just played my game and waited for another chance…
FT - very simple session
FT - only one lonely hand
FT - short session's stats
I hope that the 2nd session will be better, much better. I lost about 3 buy ins in my last 2 sessions (about 1k hands) but I think my play was okay, so there is no panic, result will follow the knowledge.
Did I say knowledge? Wow, the NEW AGE is here, isn’t? :-)
I had a long-long session last night. After the first 90 minutes FT I had a little break than I opened up PS as well and play on them simultaneously (2+2 or 3+1 tables).
FT + PS from yesterday
I wasn’t happy with my play on FT at all. I lost too many middle pots. Missing 3rd barrels maybe – need a review! There were 200 hands in the first our when I just couldn’t won a pot. That was a huge falling.
FT yesterday - midnight started with the 205th hand
And that was the reason why I left a couple of tables there and change them to PS ones. When I’m looking back it seems to me a perfect move. Maybe a little bit late but my game was much better after that.
PS yesterday - midnight started with the 203rd hand
