Keep working

I had a little loosing streak which means 3 days and 6.5 buy ins. I hope that it’s over.

I played a 2 hours long session today, close to 400 hands. There was nothing huge, just a nice quiet game. The biggest win was $12.40 and the other side’s top hand means $10 loss (4bet/fold pre). But it’s okay, I was happy with my game.

I'm back on track

I was out for a few days but still playing from my laptop. But I had no time to blogging, writing mails etc.

I had ups and downs in the last couple of weeks. Yesterday was a huge down thanks for the variance. Today is down yet as well but much more interesting.

I’ll show you two fresh hands from my session where I lost a lot but I think I played them good. Funny how my weak skills saved my ass from these situations in the past :-) I’m sure I was folding the 1st one pre flop and give up the 2nd on the flop.

1st  http://weaktight.com/2882998

Opponent is 27/27 after 53 hand.

Agg is 17% - 33% F (9), 0% T (5), 0% R (4)  - looks like a real 1bm now but I didn't have these many hands about him at the time.

His 3b is 14%.

This was my 10th hand at this table, I played only 2 of them and won both. The 1st pre flop, the 2nd (which was right before this) on the flop with a CB.

I 4bet here to build dynamics vs him. He called me from oop so I put him on a range like this: TT+, AQs+, AKo. I have 40% eq vs this range on this flop. After he check/raise shoved me I cut his range a little bit to this: TT+, AsKs. My eq is still 32% and I need only 24.8% to be even, so I must to call this imo.

We don’t have any history so his hand is really surprise me. If he shoves with it pre that’s okay, but calling a 4bet with QJs fro out of position? Why? And he seems to be a reg not a fish.

2nd http://weaktight.com/2883076

Opponent is 27/23/45 after 44 hands (5 tabling)

I raise because I want to be HU ip and I don’t like to be squeezed from one of those blinds. I chose the TBL (tiny barrel line) post flop vs him. I really like this river I think it’s a perfect card for a 3rd barrel. And that’s the only way for me to win this pot. If I’m right he will fold his pairs like 99, TT, maybe (just maybe) QQ and a Jack (except KJ). I bet a little bit too much on the river but I really wanted to bet out any Jack from his hand.

Anyway, this hand is another surprise for me. He is a reg, there is no history between us either. After my session I checked him out on PTR. He is coming down from higher stakes (NL200-NL400) so maybe this is a standard play there I don’t know. I didn’t see any NL50 reg before who check/calls down my 3barrels with a medium pair on this board.

Nothing else happened, so here the 1st session’s graph:

Man I hate this

Start to bore me this to be honest. I was working 5.5 hours for that f*n $67 profit, then a hand like this coming and…  and this is the 3rd day in a row with this ending.

http://weaktight.com/2828248

BB is 6/0 – 18 hands
CO is 17/14/41 – 697 hands

The flop was so dry I wanted to give a chance to a middle pair or an AK type of hand to bet out the turn. My plan was worked then he shoved and I had a bad feeling about it. I thought he had an overset. C'est la Vie than. But a straight? Go to the hell…

I could chose between 2 or 3 lines in this hand imo. If I 3bet pre flop and the nitty BB 4bets that’s an easy fold and I lose less. If I call like I did but bet out the flop, I think the result is the same. CO never ever fold his oesd there. I hate this hand.

This is not a good feeling you know. Working hard, making pretty good money then lost everything. Day after day. Always the same finish. And I’m always saying that tomorrow will be different. F*it must be.

God I hate bad luck - and I hate to say this too

I had a perfect day yesterday at the tables. Lost only one big hand with my AA pre ai vs two guys, s was a pretty huge pot (AA vs KK vs T8s – K hits). I know, this is poker, so I was happy with my result overall.

Graph from yesterday

Today is a little bit different. I played my A game again then I lost a couple of dirty hands and my game too, so I quit.

To be honest with you, I played badly the key hand. My opponent was running like a God at the moment. He hit set after set and won them all. After this one he won the very next two hands as well. And what else he did have than sets again. So he jumped above 5 or 6 buyins in 5 minutes or so. I never see a run like that before.

http://weaktight.com/2823917

Opponent is 28/20/44 – after 112 hands.

I bet the flop because I think this is the better way with my hand. If I’m check/raising here I never ever win huge with my monster. + The SB is a calling station (the target) with a lot of money so he could call me at least.

On the turn I think another bet looks too strong, so I decided to check/raise at this time. I was sure he will bet vs my check, and he did. Till this point I think I played the hand okay. Now my raising size is the problem. If he has nothing, he will fold most of the time. If he has a hand like A high FD + a pair for ex, I give him perfect odds to call. So raise more and go all in is the better way here imo.

When I saw the river I was sure that’s not good for me. My plan was simple: check/calling a reasonable bet. I didn’t want to lose my whole stack but wanted to give him a chance to bluff out with his FD or TPTK hands.

Maybe I’m wrong but I think he played that hand badly too because there were so many draws and he didn’t save his set from them.

Today at the moment

Hard work and new conditions

Okay, time to cash out so I need to work harder to be in a safe position again.

Yesterday was interesting. I started badly then had a huge fight all the way down. I wasn’t involved in any big pot so was a really simple session overall.

Graph about it

Today first was another comeback. I need to be more careful in the first part of my sessions when I try to build dynamics but don’t know my opponents very well.

Stop for a moment!

I had a plan – a dream to be honest – when I moved up to NL50. I knew that I need to cash out a few hundred soon. The target was a $2500 BR and I had few weeks to hit it. I know this is so result oriented but that was the only way to stay at NL50 after the cash out.

This is my BR from yesterday

I lost a little bit after this but I still have enough so my dream comes true. I’ll playing at NL50 and I have new dreams :-)

Yeah, my wife enjoys this and told me what we do need to buy this year. Man, I need to work more, much more.

My main target at the moment is to learn. Let’s dream big: I’d like to play at NL100 from the beginning of 2011. I know it sounds impossible, but I don't know that word anymore. And this is a perfect target for me to fight.

This is my NL50 graph till today

Sadly I’m still able to tilt myself

Yesterday wasn’t a special day till I found a stable 90/53/37 player. He was a goldmine for everybody except me. And I wasn’t able to stop playing there and quit. I felt that if I do it I leave too much money at the table. So I was playing more and more and lost more and more.

He was folding every time when I had a hand but call me or bet me out from the pot when I hadn’t. Was very frustrating. I told myself many times to quit but I just couldn’t. He doubled up everybody around us and I donated his game.

Look at those last 200 hands. That is his table.

I gave myself a huge E score. I deserve it.

Crazy day

My 1st session was a short one. I lost two all in and wasn’t sure about my play + the fish left the table, so I quit.

Those two hands:

1. Opponent is a maniac target. I was calling here because of the game flow and because I felt that he just try to bluff me out. So yes, I don’t have any logically reason to do that. But I did…

http://weaktight.com/2790437

I was wrong actually…

2. Mistake? Could be. Only 5 hands at this table before this hand - and this was the last one, ‘cause the target left.

http://weaktight.com/279041

Opponent is not an agro one + he we were both in early positions. Calling a 3bet could be better here…

My 2nd session was almost the best one I’ve ever had. I played very good and targets wanted to pay me off so perfect combination. There is no special hand in it. AA vs random hands etc. I was up to 4 buy in ( a little bit more) which is excellent. Then had a last hand on one of my table: AK vs AA. Happens. I don’t like it, but that’s poker baby.

Still NL50

Since my 2nd or 3rd shot at NL50 I’m playing just at this level. And I love it. I’ve always lost my A game before but since we have this weakly group coaching I’m playing my A game almost always. This doesn’t mean that I’m a huge winner already but much-much better than ever before. I hope that this time that’ll be continuing because every time when I said something good about me or my game the very next session was horrible. But I am not superstitious… :-) LOL

So, let see some stats and graphs!

Yesterday

I started the day with Steve’s NL50 video and was very impressed. Especially with his pre flop moves. I’m talking about 3bets, 4bets and squeezes vs the right opponents. Since I used these weapons I have no fear vs average regs and they don’t like me and that is so cool. I know this is just the beginning and have a lot to learn but man, I like people to make frustrated :-)

Stats

You’ll see later that my overall 3bets and 4bets are lower than yesterday so this is something new and very enjoyable. Yeah, I think this is the correct word: I ENJOY playing poker and that’s very important for me.

Graph

Overall NL50

I’ve played 23 hours and 2844 hand at this level. My 3bets, 4bets and Agg will be higher if I can continue my game from yesterday.

Something very important: I think I’m playing better at NL50 than NL25, but not because luck or swing. The main reason is the 2tabling. I never ever wrote these many notes before. I start to feel that how important are the reads and looks like playing only 2 tables at NL50 is more exciting than multitabling at NL25.

I did what I wrote in the last post and that’s good. If I quit earlier then I would have a little profit too but that’s okay.

Today’s stats

As you see, NL25 is killing me but on NL50 I’m still winning. I don’t know the answer, maybe just the short term… Anyway, this is the better option I think :-)

I’m a fuckin idiot and this is a fuckin bad joke, but I can’t laugh...

Every time when I say something positive about my game, my play or myself the very next session is a nightmare. Just like a fuckin bad joke from above.

I was tiltless for a long time, I enjoyed to play poker and didn’t care bad luck etc. And you know what? I still don’t care them. I just sit out because I couldn’t win a single SD hand on that fuckin NL25 level.

Do I have AA? Never mind, river gives trips to his trash. Do I have top 2 on the turn? Never mind, river gives him better 2. Do I have middle (over) pair on the flop vs a half buyin total monkey? Never mind, this is the time, when he has a bigger one.

So something like that.

I’m going to take a shower, make love then eat those fishes one after another. No problem, no hard feeling. This is my job, to eat them and enjoy their money. And this is exactly what I’m going to do.

Cheers

Welcome Mr $2k BR!

Yeah baby, here we are! One nice NL50 hand and I’m over that $2000 finally. I’m so happy so I need to stop and write this down. And my target just left the table, so that’s another reason :-)

There were ups and downs in the last couple of sessions. The fanny thing is that: I’m up on NL50 but down on NL25. Maybe I need to forget that level… Just kidding, I’m still an NL25 player I think.

Here is THE hand:   http://weaktight.com/2728609

Target is 56/6/48.

The read is: post flop he is an agro monkey, if you check then he bets any streets, especially if he has a piece of the board. I folded vs him before with TPWK hand but see him to do this w total air vs others.

Back to the NL25 tables

After I watched Steve plays at NL200/400 I was very impressed and I decided to play some poker tonight. So after everybody went to the bed (actually my mother in law in ours, so my wife sleeping here, just few feet from my computer) I started it.

And this one went well. I lost all ins, been lucky once and overall I played really well. More 3bets and 4bets than usual – thanks for Steve’s game.

Anyway, I grind that money back that I lost with my first NL50 shot. To be honest, I’m thinking about another one tomorrow. We’ll see...
