I wrote my plan down 3 days ago

2000 - 2250: 2*NL50 + 1*NL100
2250 - 2500: 1*NL50 + 2*NL100
2500 - 4000: 3*NL100 – but I will play on both limit depends on my targets

…and today I hit the last one so I can 3tabling in any combination of these two limit

I’m lucky because I started the NL50 with an upswing a few months ago so I never went back to NL25. Now I’m in the same shoes with this NL100. I lost a few stack since I moved up but all of them on my NL50 tables - that's luck. The only difference is that this time I will play at NL50 too ‘til I reach 4k BR where I’ll start to test the next limit.

Moving up

Yeah baby, yesterday I had my 1st ever shot at NL100.

Since I’m usually 2-3tabling the plan is simple: 

2000 - 2250: 2*NL50 + 1*NL100
2250 - 2500: 1*NL50 + 2*NL100
2500 - 4000: 3*NL100 – but I will play on both limit depends on my targets

Sometimes I feel myself really good so I can 4tabling but that’s the maximum. A chance to lose the game flow and my ability to take notes... well for me those extra hands that another table would means just doesn’t worth it at all.

 

I played 3 mixed sessions: 342 hands at NL100 and 606 hands at NL50.

My first impressions, feelings, thoughts

• my pants was full in the 1st session
• I played a little bit passively (less 3bets, sqz, 4bets) than usual
• but the game is the same, fish is fish - reg is reg
• this is still poker “not the science of rockets“
• I thought this limit will be more aggressive than the NL50 but it wasn’t
• I know, this is very small sample but looks like the only difference is in our head – because of the bigger stacks, pots, blinds etc

So I played my B or B+ game at NL100 imo. In the same time I was really good at NL50 (I will post a river overbet hand in the other thread). I had bad luck: lost a pre ai w AA vs KK but luckily not at NL100 – always look on the bright side of life :-)

Anyway I had a very funny hand which makes this 1st shot much nicer and easier. Look at that brilliant turn play :-D

Opponent is a 66/2/32 fish after 324 hands. He is not an aggro monkey and he is able to fold to cbets (F: 52%, T: 46% - 100% in 3bet pots). He doesn’t like to bet vs MCB (25% oop).

I thought my only chance to win something here if he has an Ace or if I can irritate him and makes him angry. That’s what I was doing on the turn…

About yesterday

I started the review of my worst poker day but I don't want to waste any more time with it. I made a few mistakes but overall that was a day when whatever what you are doing you just cannot win. I'm not going to post here individual hands. I upload the 60BB + loses and here is the link:

Of course, there are mistakes between them but most of them are variance. Wasn't my luckiest day at all.

But in the same time this could be a huge luck because I'm going back to my lovely NL50 SH game so I hope that I payed off every luckfest yesterday and today I'll get back some of them or at least my 80-20 hands can win :-)

Rush is good for me today

I've already played 2 sessions at NL10 Rush FR today. The game was good and simple. I was 4tabling so my stats are a little bit nitty but it felt good at this time.

I watched couple of videos about NL FR Rush poker on the Card Runners. One from Verneer (called Mr Micro 2011, Part 1) and one from Kush (called Live Session: Rush Poker, part 1).

Verneer has a new goal this year. He wants to build up a $10 000 BR from $200. He started it a few days ago at NL10 Rush, FR & SH. He already made some adjustments and talks about them. If someone likes to play Rush but doesn’t know where and how to start this video worth that hour.

Kush is playing at NL50 and NL100 in this series. Part 1 is NL50, part 2 is NL100 and part 3 is a HEM review. This is much more advanced staff than the Verneer one.

Both of them are 4tabling.

I already played a session today which was very frustrated but had a nice comeback and it cuts my losing streak in this type of game which is a good feeling.

One thing that I already learn from Kush is how to steal BB from SB. I remember how many times I got called when I raised only a normal 3x. Now I start to raise 4x with any two and 3x with good hands. 4x works incredible well. Steal Pct is 80%, Overall Steal Success is 78.1 in this pos!

Looks like I played a little bit too loose, especially if you see Verneer who has 14/11/5 type of stats since he changed his game. But 1482 hands are short term and my 27.2/24.7 SB stats could be the reason of that. And that’s something that I don’t want to change because it works. I still lost a little money there but got resteal only 3 times, and get another called 3 times which is not too much imo.

Damn new year

Finally, I played my A-game today! I still lost a little, thanks for my w$sd + 2 bad move, but was much better than the last few days.

I lost somewhere in the middle of the last week or so, as usual. Which is interesting because I was running good on those days. I won a couple of flips in a row for example etc. I just didn’t paid enough attention to the regs. I tried to play against the fishes and that’s all. That’s not good because my aggression felt down right away. And if I’d like to move up (which I do) then I need to play better against regs because there will be less fish and more CR type of guy there. I need to play like I did when I started to play at this level. This is that simple.

So I reviewed Steve’s #7 flag video which is like a bottle of water in the Sahara for me.

My current streak is ‘lost 4 in a row’ which is the longest at this level, the amount is 5 buy in. I hear Steve’s voice: 5 buy in is very standard in one single session… :-)

That's it folks.

I've played my last session for this year today. Was very fast and I made some mistake but overall it was good. I reached the 23rd consecutive IM month and almost got back to breakeven after a bad start.

I'm not happy with my game and mentality in December so there'll be a lot of change in January.
